Mo - Robotic Lawn Mowing

Overview

Mo is a full scale practical robotic lawnmower. It is powered by an Arduino and has collision sensors and a radio sensor used for perimeter detection. There is no auto-home and recharge mechanism (as yet) although the perimeter detector lends itself well to this so that may be added later. The first phase of design is to get the mower up and running just using just using collision sensors. Once the mechanical and electrical and mowing quirks have been ironed out, the radio detection will be added and software functionality extended accordingly.

Here is a clip showing preliminary tests using the radio perimeter detector. The mower is moving quickly at the moment so it tends to run over the wire by some margin before stopping but that can be catered for by either moving the wire further from the edge or going with slower locomotion motors.
